I’m not sure what the OOB stands for, but I’ll assume it’s Out OF Bounds (or Borders). Anyway this is an effect that I started seeing a few years ago, and I played around with it here and there. Recently Facebook updated the look of their photo viewing lightbox, getting rid of the black background and going with a light off white with a white frame. I thought it would be a good time to take advantage of that and use the Facebook design to help sell the effect.
